Undercover drug sting nets 10 in Tangipahoa Parish

TANGIPAHOA PARISH, LA (WAFB) -

Authorities said an ongoing undercover drug sting has resulted in several arrests so far and more could be coming.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office reported nine people had been arrested as of Feb. 20, 2014 in an investigation that started several months ago. They are all from Kentwood. Below is a list of the suspects and charges:

Desmond Cryer, 30, is charged with distribution of Hydrocodone (5 counts) and distribution of marijuana. He is being held in Avoyelles Parish awaiting transport to the Tangipahoa Parish Jail.

Lindsey Newman, 25, faces a charge of distribution of Oxycodone.

Jacob Shelton, 28, was booked on charges of distribution of synthetic cannabinoid and distribution of Adderall. He is currently in Hunts Correctional Facility awaiting transport to the Tangipahoa Parish Jail.

Andra Smith, 23, was arrested on a charge of distribution of marijuana.

Richard Stewart, 31, faces three counts of distribution of marijuana.

Brad Wright, 46, is charged with distribution of Oxycodone.

Robert Wright, 25, faces four counts of distribution of Oxycodone.

Dominic Ciccio, 21, was booked on charges of conspiracy to distribute Hydrocodone and distribution of cocaine.

Obadiah Hampton, 32, was arrested on charges of distribution of marijuana and distribution of cocaine.

Sheriff Daniel Edwards said agents from the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Office Narcotics, Tri Parish Narcotics Task Force and Louisiana State Police made up the undercover operation. He added 30 warrants have been produced on 16 suspects.

The investigation continues and additional arrests are expected.

Edwards noted Mariel Castillo, 25, of Hammond, was arrested on a distribution of marijuana charge in an unrelated case.
