MSA-West Junior High wins national cheerleading competition

PLAQUEMINE, LA (WAFB) -

The MSA-West Junior High School has won a national cheerleading competition.

The group recently beat the competition in the Novice Junior High Division with United Cheer in Galveston.

"Their hard work and determination paid off. The work was worth it," said Denise Serio, faculty sponsor.

Students on the Junior High Division team at MSA West are Alaiyha Battiste, Alissa Graves, Arianna Koulpasis. Angel Elzy, Cameron Shields,Carly Crochet, Chelsea Washe, Destanee Atwood, Kennedy Washington, Raleigh Richard, Sharon Gibson, Sydney Lyons, Taylor Duncan, Teri Alexander, Tramiria Pitcher, Tynikqua Payne, Abby Blanchard, and Claire Blanchard.
