NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - New details emerge in the Darren Sharper rape investigation as a St. Bernard Parish sheriff's sergeant is questioned.

A court filing by the D.A.'s office in Los Angeles connects the former Saint to rape or sexual assault investigations there, along with other cases in Tempe, Arizona; Las Vegas, Los Angeles and New Orleans.

A report released by the Tempe Police Department details what allegedly happened to two women in Arizona after a night out with Darren Sharper. The 40-page report says in the week before Thanksgiving last year, a group of women went out partying with Sharper and their friends. Sharper was apparently in town visiting. When the women returned to their apartment with him to put one of their female friends to bed, Sharper insisted they do a shot of alcohol.

The two victims each say they woke up the next morning and realized they'd been sexually assaulted. They both went to the hospital to get examined. Sharper hasn't been charged with a crime in Arizona, he's simply under investigation.

He's also being investigated in New Orleans for similar allegations. As part of that case, Sgt. Brandon Licciardi with the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office has been interviewed by investigators. There's no explanation right now as to how Licciardi fits into the investigation.

Sharper also faces allegations of rape in Nevada. FOX 8 legal analyst Joseph Raspanti says Sharper's attorney faces an uphill battle.

"The way to defend these types of cases usually is it's a he-said, she-said, it was consensual, all those types of things, but when you can see it's a pattern of behavior that he has, he's got a big problem using that defense," says Raspanti.

Sharper is due in court in Los Angeles Thursday for an arraignment. He was arrested last month, accused of raping and drugging two women there. He was released on a $200,000 bond, but prosecutors want the judge to hold him on a $10 million bond.

Sharper's Los Angeles-based attorney says she's looking forward to the true facts in that case  being revealed and expects Sharper to be exonerated.
