BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A 20-year-old woman charged with attempted murder was released after posting a $51,000 bond, according to prison records.

The Baton Rouge Police Department was called to investigate on Sunday, Feb. 16 shortly after 9:00 p.m. The victim told police that his girlfriend, Emily A. Gonzalez, intentionally hit him with her car.

"The victim stated he and Gonzalez had been arguing and he decided to break up with her," the officer noted in the probable cause report. "The victim stated she went outside and ‘keyed' his truck. The victim stated Gonzalez got in her car and drove at him."

Although the victim avoided being hit, he claims that Gonzalez backed up the vehicle and drove at him a second time.

"The victim stated he was struck the second time," the officer noted. "The victim stated she backed up over him as she fled the scene."

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

A witness allegedly backed up the victim's statement. Police located Gonzalez and arrested her for attempted second-degree murder and simple criminal damage to property. She was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
