BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A woman faces battery charges after her ex-boyfriend suffered a stab wound to the chest when the two allegedly got into a fight.
Anjelica Taylor, 25, of Baton Rouge, was arrested Sunday afternoon on charges of aggravated second-degree battery and unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling.
The Baton Rouge Police Department said it was called to an apartment on Drusilla Lane around 12:30 p.m. on a reported stabbing.
Officers said they arrived on the scene to find Taylor covered in blood. They added the victim was found inside his apartment bleeding heavily from a stab wound to the chest.
Investigators said a witness told them Taylor went to her ex-boyfriend's apartment, where she used to live, to get some of her belongings. According to reports, Taylor spoke to the victim briefly before forcing her way into the apartment and a fight broke out.
According to the probable cause report, the witness stated Taylor grabbed a glass pitcher and hit her ex-boyfriend with it. The report added the victim suffered the stab wound from broken glass when the pitcher shattered.
The witness said Taylor recently moved to another apartment in the same complex.
