KENTWOOD, LA (WAFB) - School officials confirm a man arrested for child pornography worked at a high school at the time of his arrest.
Tangipahoa Parish School Superintendent Mark Kolwe said Kenneth Dillon, 64, of Kentwood, was a part-time band instructor at Kentwood Magnet High School when he was taken into custody Friday. He added Dillon has since been fired.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office reported Dillon was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on a charge of possession of child pornography. Deputies said he was arrested after a legal search of his home.
"A preliminary search of the Dillon residence revealed the presence of sexually explicit images of children, including one video which depicts a child approximately eight years old engaged in sexual intercourse with an adult," officials said in a written release about the arrest.
Detectives reported electronic equipment was taken from the home as part of the ongoing investigation.
