Workshop teaches how to get events, stories covered

An upcoming workshop will help members of community organizations increase publicity for their events.

The Baton Rouge Area Association of Black Journalists (BRAABJ) is hosting a workshop called the "Secrets to Accessing the Media." Local anchors, reporters, producers, digital specialists, and editors will teach you how to get your events in the media, how to write a news release, and how to conduct yourself during an interview.

The workshop will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22 from 8:30 a.m. to noon at The Advocate, 7290 Bluebonnet Boulevard, in Baton Rouge. Breakfast will be served. The cost is $10 per person.

You can pay at the door, but you must RSVP in advance by sending your name, organization, and the number of people attending to brareaabj@gmail.com. Seating is limited so reserve your spot today.

For more information, go to www.brareabj.org or call (225) 678-1472.
