(WMC-TV) – A motorcyclist found a baby's body just after noon Sunday on Singleton Parkway, just south of I-269 in Millington.

"I would say that it seems like the body has been there for some time," said Millington Police Chief Rita Stanback. "It's less than a year old, wearing a onesie."

Millington investigators contacted Memphis Police Department crime scene investigators knowing they had been working a missing baby case since early January.

Aniston Walker was 7 weeks old when she disappeared on January 9. According to the baby's mother, Andrea, she left Aniston home with a 3-year-old as she dropped her 5-year-old son off at school. When she returned, she said Aniston was gone.

Andrea was arrested on child neglect charges but has since been released from jail.

"Memphis police are on the scene, just in case this is the baby that is missing," said Stanback.

Police have not said whether the baby found in Millington is Aniston Walker. The medical examiner is now on the scene.

"Everything is kind of pending right now until we find out if it is the baby y'all are thinking about," added Inspector Charlie Coleman. "We don't know that yet. Worst I've seen in years."

Millington Police Chief Stanback just finished answering questions from the media about the tragic discovery.  Click here to watch the Q&A with the police chief.
