2 face charges in armed robbery in grocery store parking lot

HAMMOND, LA (WAFB) -

Two men are behind bars after two people were robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot of a grocery store early Friday morning.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office said Dorin Sellers, 25, and Kevin Mullens, 26, both of Hammond, were arrested in connection with the robbery around 1:30 a.m.

Sheriff Daniel Edwards said it happened in the parking lot of Jeff's Grocery Store on West Club Deluxe Road in Hammond.

According to deputies, Sellars was arrested on site. They said Mullens drove off and was caught by the police dog, "Recon," after crashing and trying to run away.

Sellers was booked on the following charges:

Armed robbery with a gun

Resisting an officer by force

Aggravated second-degree robbery

Convicted felon in possession of a firearm

Mullens faces the following charges:

Resisting an officer by force

Convicted felon in possession of a firearm

Principle to a felony

The investigation is ongoing.
