Police search for armed robber who got away with money and merchandise

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Police are looking for the man who robbed a store at gunpoint Wednesday evening.

The Baton Rouge Police Department said it happened at Real Deal on Plank Road around 7:15 p.m.

Detectives said the suspect walked up to the counter with merchandise, but as the clerk started ringing up the items, he pulled out a gun and demanded the money in the register.

According to investigators, the robber then ran away with the cash and merchandise. He was last seen driving away in a dark colored older model SUV. No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as dark skinned and about 5'10" with a thin build. It is believed he is in his mid-20s.

He was wearing a grey colored ball cap.
