Baton Rouge teacher among national essay contest winners

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Teacher Brandie Satterfield was recently one of 10 grand prize winners in the Orange Julius Treater for Teachers Essay Contest.

Satterfield, a pre-kindergarten teacher at CrossPoint Baptist School in Baton Rouge, was awarded $1,490 for the purchase of school supplies. More than 1,500 entries were submitted as teachers had to write essays on why their class deserved the award.

The contest is sponsored by Orange Julius at DQ.
