IBERVILLE PARISH, LA (WAFB) -

What began as a traffic stop, ended with 100 pounds of weed taken off the streets. The Iberville Sheriff's Office found the enormous amount of pot in a motor home.

The driver of the vehicle was Timothy Travarca. Sheriff Brett Stassi said this grade of pot is one they don't see often.

"This is not the home grown in the ground pot, this is what's called hydro grow," said Stassi.

Hydro-grown means it is an extremely potent type of marijuana. Officers said the street value is worth $500,000.

Stassi said keeping a lid on criminals like Travarca is difficult, but if criminals want to take that chance, they won't get very far.

"This guy takes a trip, a suicide run, he is going to hit it big or hit it at the Iberville Parish jail, and that is where he's at," Stassi.

Travarca is facing one charge of possession with the attempt to distribute.
