BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Baton Rouge Police arrested a man and charged him with 4th offense DWI after a car crash that happened early Thursday morning.
Police say 51-year-old Ernest J. Davis was driving in the 1300 block of North I-110 when he veered off the road and crashed into a ditch.
When police arrived, according to the probable cause report, they could smell alcohol on his breath and say Davis spoke with a slur and had glassy, red, bloodshot eyes.
Davis agreed to the breathalyzer which reported his BAC to be 0.164g%. The legal limit in Louisiana is 0.08g%.
During the investigation, police found Davis had been arrested for DWI on three other occasions since 2004.
Davis was charged with 4th offense DWI and reckless operation of a vehicle. He was taken to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison where he is being held on a $51,500 bond.
