BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Some pockets of sleet and snow flurries are falling across metro Baton Rouge.

No accumulation is expected.

With temps above freezing for most and light precipitation amounts, major road issues are not expected.

Mayor Kip Holden issued a release just before noon with a message for drivers.

"We urge you to drive carefully and safely on the roadways," Holden said. "We will update you if there are any changes in the weather that could impact traveling in the area."

He reiterated the information about this latest wave of wintry weather not being expected to cause major issues on the roadways across the parish.

"We don't anticipate any closures at this time. We can't overemphasize the importance of driving cautiously and staying tuned to and any heeding local weather forecasts," he added.
