CENTERVILLE, LA (WAFB) -

Authorities are searching for two men, one of them a murder suspect, who escaped from a parish prison.

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office said deputies are searching for Christopher Horton, 28, of Bayou Vista, and Joshua Folks, 36, of Franklin. Authorities consider the men extremely dangerous.

"There are going to be law enforcement potentially in your area. If you see an influx of law enforcement, we ask that you step inside and lock your doors," said Traci Landry with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office.

They escaped from the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville early Monday morning. The facility is on lockdown and detectives and outside agencies are "searching everywhere." Officials are not releasing information on how the duo escaped.

Horton is accused of second-degree murder and arson, among other charges. Folks was being held on theft and aggravated escape charges. Both men should be considered dangerous.

Horton is 5'11" with blond hair and brown eyes. Folks is 5'9" with brown hair and blue eyes.

Deputies will be working to patrol the parish overnight. St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office is using all resources available to aid in the search. U.S. Marshals and Louisiana State Police as well as local law enforcement agencies in the parish are assisting.

Officials have released images of Folks' tattoos to aid the public in identifying him. On his upper left arm is a script tattoo of the name Robin. On his upper right arm are tattoos of the Celtics and Patriots logo/emblems.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts should contact the sheriff's office at 985-384-1622 or 337-828-1960.
