Police: Man crashes stolen truck during police chase after burglary

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A Baton Rouge man is now in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison after police say he crashed a stolen pickup truck during a police chase after he burglarized High Style Urban Wear in Baton Rouge.

Just after 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, police were called to the 6200 block of Plank Road for a burlgary in progress. When officers arrived, they saw 39-year-old Eddie White leaving High Style Urban Wear in a white Ford pickup truck.

Officers attempted to stop White and a chase began. Police caught White after he crashed the pickup truck on Ford Street.

During the investigation, officials learned that the truck was stolen from the 8800 block of Greenwell Springs Road Tuesday evening.

White was arrested and booked on charges of burglary, aggravated flight from an officer, resisting an officer with violence and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

No bond has been set.
