ST. FRANCISVILLE, LA (WAFB) -

People in south Louisiana aren't used to seeing ice-covered roadways and that was evident by lots of slipping and sliding going on Wednesday morning.

The sheets of ice on the highway were even obstacles for those trying to keep everyone safe. Two law enforcement vehicles, along with a sand truck, got stuck and had to be towed.

Many drivers said they've never seen road conditions this bad.

"You've got to go very slow," one driver said. "You're sliding all over the place."

As temperatures warmed up a little bit in the afternoon, some of the ice melted. However, crews are concerned about re-freezing overnight.
