NATALBANY, LA (WAFB) - A Hammond, LA teen is dead and another turned himself in to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office after a shooting that happened late Thursday night at Roy's Night Club in Natalbany, LA.
Deputies say the shooting happened around 11:40 p.m. after a fight between two people broke out. Officials say 19-year-old Wilkaman Nunnery intervened and pulled out a handgun. In the report from deputies, Nunnery then pointed the gun at 17-year-old D'Markus McKnight and fired a shot.
Officials also say as McKnight fell to the ground, Nunnery fired two more shots killing McKnight. McKnight died as a result of the shooting.
Deputes say Nunnery fled the scene and a warrant for second degree murder was issued. Officials say Nunnery turned himself into the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office Friday afternoon and is charged with second degree murder.
