EBRSO: Teens prompt massive show of force at abandoned theater

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Authorities were called out to the old, abandoned Tinseltown Theater near the Siegen Marketplace on Wednesday evening for reported shots fired in the area. But officials say the big scare turned out to be a group of teenagers playing with fireworks.

It happened around 8:00 p.m. The teens somehow got inside of the building, according to EBRSO authorities. Once inside, they began to light fireworks and set them off. The EBRSO soon arrived at the scene after responding to a call of shots being fired.

The identities of those involved have not been released, and there is not information of just how many people were in the building.

Authorities say the suspects could face several misdemeanor charges.
