BATON ROUGE – For the second straight week the LSU gymnastics team is ranked No. 2 nationally in the GymInfo Top 25 standings released Monday.
LSU (1-1, 0-1 SEC) posted the third-highest score of the weekend with a 196.875 at Georgia on Jan. 17 after scoring the nation's second-best score so far with a 197.200 in the season opener on Jan. 10.
Rankings are based on a team's season average, and the Tigers are No. 2 with a 197.038 average after two meets. Oklahoma held on to the top spot with a 197.188 average.
LSU is No. 3 nationally on vault with a 49.425 average, No. 6 on bars at 49.163, No. 3 on beam at 49.163 and No. 6 on floor at 49.288.
Juniors Rheagan Courville and Jessie Jordan continue to rank in the Top 5 nationally in the all-around as Courville is No. 2 with a 39.487 average and Jordan is No. 5 at 39.438.
Courville also ranks fourth on beam with a 9.90 average, 14th on bars with a 9.875 average and 22nd on vault with a 9.875 average.
Jordan is fifth in the beam standings at 9.888 and 22nd on bars with a 9.85 average.
Sarie Morrison is third nationally on vault with a 9.925 average and fourth on bars at 9.90.
Jessica Savona is 10th on floor with a 9.90 average, and Britney Ranzy is 22nd on vault with a 9.875 average.
LSU takes on No. 14 Auburn at 7 p.m. CT Friday in the Maravich Center, and tickets are still available for purchase at www.LSUtix.net.
