BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A 20-year-old Baton Rouge man was arrested by police after they say he robbed a man at gunpoint and tried to kidnap him.
It happened on January 12, 2014 just before 7 p.m. near Burbank Avenue and Gardere Lane. The victim told police two men approached him as he was getting out of his vehicle when one of the men pointed a silver revolver at his head and said "give me all you got, or I will kill you!"
The victim handed over his cell phone, wallet and wedding ring.
The victim told police the men began pushing him towards his car so they could drive him to his bank. The victim said the men wanted him to take money out of his bank account with his debit card. The victim gave the suspects his PIN for his debit card and was able to get away.
The victim described one of the suspects to police, and the officer, being an armed robbery and burglary detective, reported that he was familiar with a subject that fit that description. The officer believed the suspect actually lived in the neighborhood where the armed robbery happened.
Corneilus R. Marshall was arrested and booked on charges of armed robbery and attempted aggravated kidnapping. He is being held in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a $150,000 bond.
There is no word on the second suspect in the case.
