BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A judge found Ochsner Medical Center and an ex-nurse there to be liable in a civil lawsuit.

Bruce Greene was arrested in 2009 on sexual battery charges of a woman in ICU at the time, Sharon Hewitt. Greene later pleaded guilty to cruelty to the infirm.

Hewitt filed a civil suit against Greene and Ochsner. Today, the judge awarded her $255,000.

"I think she is trying to find a new normal; trying to cope with this, deal with it moving forward," said Attorney Kris Perret. "It is the kind of situation that no one ever expects to find themselves in, and we hope that no one ever does find themselves in."

It is important to note Ochsner fired Greene in 2009 and immediately reported him to the police.  His nursing license has been revoked for life.
