BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
A state trooper was tipped off during a traffic stop when he said he found dozens of stolen driver's licenses and credit cards.
It happened earlier Wednesday morning at around 7:30am. Troopers stopped a Kia Sorrento heading west on I-10 OF LA Hwy 415 in West Baton Rouge Parish.
Three Florida residents, 21-year-old Jessica L. Oldaker, 22-year-old Ezekiel K. Christie, and 31-year-old Lamarcus V. Bryant were taken into custody after the vehicle was searched. Troopers discovered numerous credit cards, social security cards, and driver's licenses hidden inside the car that did not belong to any of the suspects. The owners of the cards were from Florida, Texas, Illinois, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania residents.
Upon further investigation, detectives found that at least five of the recovered credit cards with matching driver's licenses were reported stolen during car burglaries in Florida on January 14th. Authorities are investigating the extent of the thefts and are trying to identify other potential victims.
All three suspects were charged with multiple counts of illegal possession of stolen things. Oldaker was also charged with driving on the right side of the road. Bryant, Oldaker, and Christie were booked into the WBR Parish jail.
