LIVINGSTON, LA (WAFB) -

Authorities said eight people have been arrested in connection with a rash of burglaries that spanned two parishes.

The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office reported the following arrests:

Brandi Lanier, 31, of Pine Grove

Bret Leblanc, 49, of Baton Rouge

Benjamin Merge, 30, of Walker

Bradley Pardue, 29, of Walker

Randolph Bass, 56, of Walker

Kierstyn Harvey, 19, of Walker

William Harris, 53, of Walker

Brandi Robinson, 27, of Walker

The burglaries happened in northern Livingston and southern St. Helena parishes starting in November. Investigators said several vehicles and sheds were broken into.

Officials said the investigation led St. Helena Parish sheriff's deputies to Lanier's home, where they reportedly found stolen items related to some of the burglaries during a search. Detectives with SHPSO also arrested Leblanc.

St. Helena Parish Sheriff Nathaniel Williams said he was proud of the team work that went into the investigation and added he was elated the dedicated detectives worked together to solve the cases.

According to authorities, the investigation into the burglaries led to the other six suspects being arrested for burglary, possession of stolen property and drug charges.

"It took 'team work' to solve a number of burglaries in Livingston and St. Helena parishes," said Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard. "That 'team work' led to the recovery of about $10,000 in stolen property. This investigation also led to the recovery of several stolen guns - which are now off the streets and out of the hands of criminals. I'd call that a good day!"

Lanier is charged with seven counts of simple burglary and theft. Those charges are out of Livingston Parish. Investigators said more burglary charges in Livingston Parish are pending, as are burglary charges in St. Helena Parish. Her bond was set at $105,500.
