BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The trial of one of the men suspected in the murder of a delivery driver is scheduled to get underway Monday.
Phillip Carter, 22, and another man are accused of shooting Bobby Nelson, 43, several times during a robbery attempt in August 2012.
Nelson died during surgery two days after being shot at the Chevron station on the corner of St. Ferdinand and Government streets while delivering fuel.
Carter is charged with first-degree murder, armed robbery and resisting arrest.
Robert Pierson, 18, faces those same charges.
