BAKER, LA (WAFB) - Opening statements are set to begin in the trial of a woman accused of killing her long-time girlfriend two years ago.
Kolande Williams, 40, of Baker, is charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of Kimberly Stewart, 35. It happened Jan. 14, 2012 at the home the couple shared.
According to investigators, Williams admitted to shooting Stewart after an argument. Police said the women had been in a relationship for 14 years and there was some history of problems.
Williams faces charges of second-degree murder, violation of a protective order and illegal use of a firearm.
