OWEN COUNTY, KY (FOX19) -

The Kentucky Division of Water has lifted the boil water advisory that was in place for the remainder of Kentucky American Water's Owenton system customers, excluding customers north of Poplar Grove to the City of Glencoe.

Nearly 2,000 Owen County residents were left without running water for almost a week after a water main break occurred in last Monday's freezing temperatures.

Customers in Eagle Hill should continue boiling for 3 minutes any tap water that is to be used for cooking or drinking until further notice.

For customers still without service, officials say they are "encouraged" by the progress water is making as it travels through the pipe system towards water-less areas.
