BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A man is arrested for his involvement in a drug deal that ended in murder in July last year.

Ameer Laymon, 21, of Baton Rouge, was present during a drug deal that included the sale of a quarter of a pound of marijuana. During the exchange, another man involved namedDevante Courtney pulled out a handgun to rob the victim of the marijuana.

When the victim attempted to prevent the robbery, Courtney allegedly shot him. The victim later died as a result of his wounds.

Courtney was later arrested on armed robbery charges and first degree murder.
