BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Baton Rouge Police have arrested a man who they believe crawled into a Jack in the Box drive-thru window, robbed a couple of employees, crawled back out of the window and led police on a chase that involved gunfire.

Police arrested Willie Bernard Vinning, 23, of Baton Rouge on charges of attempted first degree murder of a police officer and armed robbery.

The armed robbery happened December 9, 2013 around 3 a.m.

As the suspect was driving away from police in a brief chase, the suspect vehicle crashed into a wooden fence and the suspect began running, and fired at least one shot at police officers. The police were not able to catch the suspect that day.

During the investigation, it was learned the vehicle's registered owner was paralyzed and that Vinnings was the person driving the vehicle.

Police say Vinning was taken into custody Monday night and being held on a $200,000 bond in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
