BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of a man who is accused of participating in a family brawl on New Year's Day.
The Baton Rouge Police Department is currently seeking the whereabouts of Michael Taylor, II, 30. He is the son of the 53-year-old man who was transported to the hospital with critical injuries.
Investigators believe Taylor hit his father in the head with a blunt object during the altercation that took place on Convention Street. His father was knocked unconscious, which forced him to fall to the ground. EMS transported him to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Initial reports indicated that a shooting had occurred at this location. They believe Taylor fired a gun several times, but no one was struck.
Kimberly R. Dean, 40, was booked Wednesday and charged with rioting, inciting a riot, and aggravated second degree battery. Her son, James Dean, 22, and daughter Devin Dean, 21, are charged with rioting.
Police booking reports that Kimberly Dean has been arrested 17 times prior to this arrest with charges including aggravated battery, issuing worthless checks, unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, simple battery, forgery, felony theft and second degree battery.
She has also been convicted of simple battery and simple criminal damage to property.
Taylor is wanted for attempted second-degree murder, felon in possession of a firearm, aggravated assault, and illegal use of a dangerous weapon. If you know anything regarding his whereabouts, call Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-STOP (7867).
