BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Almost two dozen young men started the first day of the year with a unique accomplishment by graduating from a week-long boot camp that teaches military special operations.
There were 22 participants ranging in age from 16 to 22 years old. The course was led by Navy SEAL Kody Banks. It was hosted by Lion King Ministries, which is located in St. Helena Parish.
This camp is only held once a year and is named after a former Navy SEAL. He and 16 others died in 2011 when their helicopter was shot down in Afghanistan.
