It was a New Year's Eve unlike any other for Tracey Stewart.

"Nervous, anticipation, just ready to be Mrs. Norris," said Stewart.

Stewart and her fiancé were one of five couples that got married together in a special ceremony at Beacon Light Baptist Church just before the clock struck midnight.

"Marriage is very important and that's what we need to do and show our children we're doing the right thing," added Stewart.

Beacon Light Pastor Eric Williams came up with the idea and asked church members who wanted to get married on New Year's Eve to sign up. It was a dream come true for Yolanda Santee who actually got engaged to her husband inside the same church a few months back.

"This is what we've come up with, that 2014 we wanted to do something different and not typical New Year's resolutions just walking over in 2014 as Mr. and Mrs." Said Santee.

The five couples were lined up and married as part of Beacon Light's New Year's Eve watch service. The idea, says Williams, is the church's way to help take care of the high cost of the wedding.

"Sometimes that holds us up and what I wanted to do was be a blessing to them, we have wedding cakes and a photographer all of this and we wanted to a blessing to them as they go into the year of 2014," said Williams.

That is a blessing Tracey says could not come at a better time.

"By it being on New Year's Eve were claiming 2014 will better year for us and everyone," said Stewart.
