New development project turns area near LSU campus into ghost town

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Another step forward for a development project near campus has turned the north side of LSU into a ghost town.

Buildings near West Chimes and Aster all sit empty after an Athens, Georgia based developer purchased the properties in December.

The plan is to build a 274-unit complex called the standard, which will include a 5-story apartment building and six-story parking garage.

Construction will begin once the old property is leveled.
