Man wanted for stabbing after attack with decorative candy cane

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a 26-year-old man who is accused of stabbing a man in the neck on Christmas Eve.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department the incident happened at a home located in the 200 block of E. Garfield Street. We're told the victim, a 37-year-old man, was involved in an altercation with Damon Thomas.

Investigators learned that Thomas was involved in an altercation with the 37-year-old. Things got heated and the victim grabbed a decorative candy cane lawn ornament. He allegedly went to strike Thomas with the decoration, and that's when Thomas pulled out a knife and stabbed the man in the neck.

The victim was rushed to the hospital and survived the injury.

Thomas is wanted for aggravated second-degree battery. He has no prior arrests.
