MARINGOUIN, LA (WAFB) - Over half of the town of Maringouin, La. was without power this afternoon due to equipment failure.
Approximately 670 residents were waiting for their electricity to be turned on. According to Entergy's website, the equipment on their utility pole had broken. Crews were on the way to restore power; now, the majority of the electricity has been restored. Eleven residents remain without power due to a downed wire. The estimated restoration time for those residents will be by 10:00 p.m. Saturday evening.
The outage began at approximately 1:39 p.m. 9News has contacted Entergy officials, but there has been no additional information made available yet.
