SLIDELL, LA (WAFB) - Authorities have identified the two people who died in a shooting outside a bar in which six others were injured and the US Marshal's Office has joined the search for the gunman.

The Slidell Police Department said Errol Scott, 22, and Mark Womack, 23, lost their lives after shots rang out in Olde Towne Slidell (bar district) early Thursday morning. Investigators believe Scott was the intended target, while Womack was visiting friends for the holidays. Friends of Scott said he'll be missed.

"He had a smile that would brighten your day; if you needed a laugh, he'd be there for you," said Earvin Darby, one of Scott's friends. "He was the most loyal person you could ask for. It's a painful feeling. It's nothing that you can just get over with within a couple of hours, a month or a couple of years."

Police said the shooting happened after a fight inside the bar. They said they are following up on some leads, but have not yet identified any suspects.
