Port Allen's new interim mayor has already started an agenda to get the city back to normal.
Lynn Robertson was recently appointed as mayor of Port Allen by Governor Bobby Jindal as the replacement for Deedy Slaughter. Robertson served as mayor during the 90s, but is not expected to run in the upcoming election set in April.
Robertson said she plans on making the city's budget her top priority along with working to repair Port Allen's image as a divided community.
"I was mayor for 12 years. You cannot do it by yourself. You have to have the help of the council, you have to have the help of the community and all the employees," said Robertson. "If you don't do that you won't get anything accomplished so hopefully we can bring everyone together and accomplish a few things to be ready for the next mayor."
The next city meeting in Port Allen will be Monday, December 23rd. Robertson said she expects a new budget to be introduced.
