Police: 19-year-old armed robber victimizes two women

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Baton Rouge Police say a 19-year-old man was arrested after he victimized two women while armed with a handgun, in two separate crimes.

The police report says Randell Dennis, 19, approached a woman that was standing outside of Burkes Outlet on South Sherwood Forest Blvd. The victim tells police that Dennis pulled a gun out and put it against her neck and said "give me everything you got." The victim responded with "are you serious" and according to the report, that is when Dennis "racked" the gun and placed it against her head.

According to police, the victim told Dennis she didn't have anything and he left the scene.

During the investigation it was learned that Dennis is a suspect of another armed robbery of a woman. Police were called out on reports of a suspicious incident involving shots fired. When they arrived, the victim told police she was followed by a man, now identified as Dennis, while she was walking home.

The victim told police that the man pointed a silver handgun at her and told her "give me that [expletive]" and "give me your cell phone."  The victim told police she handed the man her cell phone and he walked away.

Dennis was taken into custody after he was stopped while walking down Old Hammond Hwy. He was identified by the victim near Burkes Outlet. He was found to be in possession of the other victim's cell phone and a silver handgun.

Randell Dennis was charged with armed robbery, attempted armed robbery and aggravated assault.

He is being held in the Baton Rouge Parish Prison. No bond has been set.
