Local bank robbed, police looking for suspect

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A local bank was robbed earlier Saturday morning, and police are looking for him.

According to Cpl. Don Coppola of the Baton Rouge Police Department, a suspect walked in to the Chase Bank at 3428 Drusilla Lane and started demanding money.

The suspect passed the bank teller a note, stating that he was armed with a weapon, though no weapon was ever seen.

Afterwards, he held out a red bag and ordered the teller to place money inside of it. The bag was filled with an undisclosed amount of cash before the suspect fled the scene on foot, heading east on Interline Rd.

He left, getting into the passenger seat of a Black Tahoe or a similar SUV.

The suspect is described as a 40 - 45 year old black male with facial hair. He is about 5'10"- 5'11" feet tall. He was wearing blue jeans, a black jacket, a black shirt, white shoes, and sunglasses.
