Star of "Cajun Pawn Stars" arrested in Rapides Parish

A former regular on a reality show featuring an Alexandria pawn shop has been arrested.

Fred Howell Jr. of Alexandria faces one count of Burglary after allegedly stealing electronics from a house.

Deputies from the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a house burglary call in Deville on November 26. The victim told deputies that someone entered their residence through a locked back door by force. A Xbox game console, Nintendo DS, and two lap top computers were taken from the house.

Investigators say Howell, 46, was identified as a suspect after a he allegedly tried to get help from a local pawn shop to get assistance in removing the victim's password from the computer.

Howell was arrested and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center on 1 count of Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling. He was released on a $5000 bond.

Howell was a reoccurring character on the show "Cajun Pawn Stars." The show on the History Channel followed the lives of an Alexandria pawn shop owner and its employees at the Silver Dollar Pawn & Jewelry Center.
