BATON ROUGE – Following a 7-1 start to the season – its best start since 2009 – the LSU women's basketball team moved up to No. 13 in the USA Today Coaches poll and remained No. 13 in the Associated Press Top 25.

The Lady Tigers are one of four Southeastern Conference teams in the top 13 in the Coaches poll joining No. 3 Tennessee, No. 6 Kentucky and No. 10 South Carolina. LSU is also the fourth-highest ranked SEC squad in the AP poll.

The Lady Tigers have been ranked in the Top 20 of both polls all six weeks of this season, representing their longest stretch in the Top 20 since the 2009-10 season when they were 12 weeks in a row.

LSU has put together an impressive non-conference resume so far with wins over Saint Joseph's, Rutgers and Michigan. St. Joe's has not lost since its defeat in Baton Rouge. The quality wins have put the Lady Tigers fifth nationally in a projected RPI used in NCAA postseason seeding. LSU also boasts a strength of schedule ranked in the top 15 nationally.

Freshman Raigyne Moncrief is LSU's leading scorer with 14.5 points per game. Moncrief leads all freshmen nationally in steals with 25 through eight games.

The Lady Tigers resume their season following final exams as they travel to face Arkansas-Little Rock at 2 p.m. CT Sunday. Geaux Zone members can watch live streaming video of the contest. It can also be heard on the LSU Sports Radio Network on Talk 107.3 FM in Baton Rouge.
