Suspected drive-thru bandit who shot at police officers identified, wanted

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Baton Rouge Police believe they have identified a man who crawled into a Jack in the Box drive-thru window, robbed a couple of employees, crawled back out of the window and led police on a chase that involved gunfire.

Police are searching for Willie Bernard Vinning, 23, of Baton Rouge. He is wanted on charges of attempted first degree murder of a police officer and armed robbery.

The armed robbery happened December 9, 2013 around 3 a.m.

As the suspect was driving away from police in a brief chase, the suspect vehicle crashed into a wooden fence and the suspect began running, and fired at least one shot at police officers.

Police say Vinning is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on this suspect is urged to call the Violent Crimes division of the Baton Rouge Police Department at 225-389-4869 or call Crime Stoppers at 225-344-7867 (STOP).
