BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Police are working with a convenience store to host a "gas for guns" exchange this weekend.
The Baton Rouge Police Department and Circle K are teaming up for the program, which is aimed to help reduce the number of unsecured firearms on the streets.
The event is scheduled for Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Living Faith Christian Center on Winbourne Avenue.
Participants will get anywhere from $50 to $300 in gas coupons for each qualifying handgun or assault weapon.
Police will take the guns with no questions asked.
