Deputies: Drunk man with loaded handgun arrested in Tractor Supply

HAMMOND, LA (WAFB) - A 20-year-old Baton Rouge man was arrested in the Hammond Tractor Supply store after being seen staggering in the aisles with a gun.

A call was made to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office about a suspicious vehicle and a man with a firearm. When deputies arrived, they found Ezra Shannon II inside the store, staggering down the aisles.

Deputies asked Shannon to remove his hands from his pockets, but he refused and became "extremely combative with deputies." There was a brief struggle.

Deputies found marijuana and a loaded handgun in his possession.

Shannon was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, illegal concealment of a firearm, illegal carrying of a firearm while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance, aggravated assault with a firearm on a peace officer, disturbing the peace by public intoxication, possession of marijuana and resisting an officer by force or violence.
