BAKER, LA (WAFB) - A man and woman face drug charges after police said they found drugs on the woman and she allegedly told them where to find drugs belonging to the man.
The Baker Police Department reported Joseph Chambers Jr., 48, and Tracy Lynn Tebbe, 44, were arrested Monday morning.
Police Chief Mike Knaps said detectives and members of the Special Response Team (SRT) served a search warrant for narcotics at a home on Chamberberlain Avenue in Baker around 6 a.m.
Investigators said they searched Tebbe's purse and found a medium-sized baggie of marijuana, a wooden smoking pipe, a wooden storage container and rolling papers. She was then placed under arrest and read her rights.
Detectives reported during questioning she told them there was marijuana belonging to Chambers in a guest bedroom. They said they continued to search the home and found the drugs when Tebbe told them they would be.
Police said they located a bag containing a large amount of marijuana and a digital scale. Knaps reported a total of more than a half-pound of marijuana was seized.
Chambers was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Tebbe faces charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Detectives added Chambers was released from prison in February. They did not state why he had been behind bars.
