NEW ORLEANS (WAFB) -

The Saints will face off the Carolina Panthers in the Superdome for Sunday Night football.

According to the New Orleans Saints website, this is the game to see for a few reasons: both teams are 9-3 so far in the season, and Drew Brees is on the verge of passing the 50,000- yard mark. Brees is only 287 yards from meeting the mark, and he will make NFL history since only four other players have done this as well.

According to Saints writer John DeShazier, the Saints will have a home field advantage with some of the loudest fans cheering them on in the Superdome. DeShazier says the Saints always rise to the challenge at home games and the Saints have yet to lose on their turf.

DeShazier also says that eyes will be on Carolina Panther's Cam Newton. He writes, "During Carolina's eight-game winning streak, Newton has completed 153 of 239 passes (64 percent) for 1,731 yards and 13 touchdowns, with six interceptions. He also has run 62 times for 324 yards (5.2 yards per carry) and five touchdowns. The Panther's offense begins and ends with Newton."

Regardless, Carolina may have a hard time hearing during Sunday's big game. Saints' fans, no doubt, have stored some frustration from their most recent loss. As DeShazier puts it, the Saints' fans will surely "bring the noise."

The game airs on NBC, and kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
