Christmas parades canceled due to rain, cold weather

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - According to Eldon Ledoux of the St. George Fire Protection District,  the St. George Santa Parade and the Jones Creek Area Business Association Christmas Parade have been canceled for Sunday, December 8th. Even if the weather clears, officials say the ground would remain too soggy to proceed.

No decision has been made regarding rescheduling, but residents who missed Santa on the fire truck, are urged to bring their food and toy donations to any of the 8 St. George fire stations.

According to the Baton Rouge Government website, the Gus Young Christmas Parade is scheduled on Saturday, December 14th at 10:00 a.m. The parade will start at North Acadian and Winbourne.

The Baton Rouge Tourism website states that the 63-year-old Downtown Christmas Parade will also be on Saturday, December 14th starting at 5:30 p.m. For more information, you can visit .
