Suspect sought in deadly west Shreveport shooting

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A local man is dead and authorities are now searching for a killer following a shooting in west Shreveport Friday evening.

Just before 10:30 p.m. on November 29, 2013, Shreveport Police Patrol officers were called to a home in the 3800 block of Huston Street for a report of a man being shot there.

Officers arrived to find an adult male victim lying in the front yard suffering what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. The victim, identified as 41-year-old Marcus Wright of Shreveport, was rushed by Shreveport Fire Department medics to University Health, where he died.

Investigators say they believe Wright was shot during a dispute regarding some aspect of a transaction involving the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics.

Authorities working to develop leads and seeking the public's assistance in uncovering information that will help lead to identity and apprehension of the person or persons responsible.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting death are urged to contact Caddo Crimestoppers immediately at (318) 673-7373 or on their website at www.lockemup.org
