1 dead in chopper crash in Scotland pub

GLASGOW, SCOTLAND (RNN) - Scotland police have confirmed one person is dead and for the number to increase in a helicopter crash into the roof of a pub on Friday.

Scotland police confirmed the Eurocopter was a police helicopter carrying three people on board - two police officers and a civilian pilot.

It happened at the Clutha Vaults bar in Glasgow.

However, First Minister Alex Salmond tweeted "Rescue efforts in full operation. Given an incident of this scale we must all prepare ourselves for the likelihood of fatalities."

Ska band Esperanza was playing at the show when the crash happened. All the band members appeared to have escaped safety.

"I was the last person out on our side, The smoke was so thick I couldn't see," band member Jason Good wrote on the band's Facebook page. "Once I got to the doors I kept the doors open so the smoke and dust would escape. Malcy, Mark and some of the crowd went back in and they pulled three people out who where in a bad way, They were brave and did not think about their own safety. we are so worried about some of our friends are missing, Please, PLEASE bring them home safe."
