BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A 38-year-old man is accused of forcing a 12-year-old girl to perform sexual acts on multiple occasions. The accusations came to light after the girl told her mother she was possibly pregnant.

East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Deputies were contacted by a relative of the young girl. The relative explained that the 12-year-old girl believed she was pregnant, and that the father is a registered sex offender who has been arrested for previous incidents involving female juveniles.

Deputies spoke to the victim's mother, who confirmed that her daughter informed her about the possible pregnancy. However, the girl did not tell her mother the name of the man and the mother claims she did not contact law enforcement because her daughter "changed her statement several times and she began to doubt the victim." The girl was given a home pregnancy test by her mother, which came back negative.

The victim told deputies that she had sexual contact with Ivy Edward Martin of Port Allen on Friday, Nov. 22. She also stated that this was not the first occasion. She claims it has occurred on a weekly basis since September 2013.

"The victim advised that [Martin] told her if she reported the incident, ‘she would be made a fool of, and no one would believe her," states the arrest report.

Deputies questioned Martin and he denied having sex with the victim. He did state that he watched the victim while she performed sexual acts on other adult males. The report notes that he told deputies he is "sick" and needs "help."

Martin was arrested and charged with Aggravated Rape. He is currently being held in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
